In Switzerland there are several companies who organize language exams. For Cambridge exams, we recommend registering here. For DELF/DALF, we recommend booking an exam here.

The first step in choosing a course is usually the placement test, which you can find here. Once you have taken our placement test, we will contact you to discuss your goals and options. If you are preparing for an exam, we may ask you to take an additional, more specific test to determine exactly which course is right for you.

We run a course when we have at least two registrations. Courses can start at any time. Our staff will contact you as soon as we can confirm the course. If you have urgent needs, we recommend private lessons, which are very flexible and can start within 3 business days of a request.

If you miss a Cambridge Certificate by just a few points, you may have the chance to retake the exam for free (please check directly with the company you booked the exam with to see if this applies to you). If this is the case, we generally recommend 5 to 10 private lessons to improve your score before retaking the exam.

If you failed by more than 3 points, it may be better to take a course over a full semester before retaking the exam.

If you are interested in general business English, a Business English Certificate (BEC) preparation course is a good option. Other Cambridge exams, such as the First or Advanced, are also well received by Swiss employers.

Castle’s helps learners achieve the necessary knowledge for settlement (C permit) and naturalization.

Applicants for C permit need the following level:

• A1 – Reading and Writing
• A2 – Speaking and Listening

Applicants for naturalization residing in the canton of Zug require the following level:

• A2 – Reading and Writing
• B1 – Speaking and Listening

If you would like to use our travel service, we will be happy to book your air travel for a small fee of sFr. 50.00 per arrangement.

Your host family will show you how to get to school on your first morning. This can be a short walk or a bus or train ride. You will have to pay for your own local transportation. On the first morning of school, you will take a placement test (or possibly an online test beforehand) and be placed in an appropriate class.

Before departure, you are welcome to contact us if you have any questions. Once you are on site, you can contact either the host family or the school directly. If the problem is not solved on the spot, we are still available to help.
